I'm Back

Absolutely shattered but I'm here. I have done so much washing and it doesn't even look like I've touched it. My mum, bless had cleaned the house while I was away and now there are bags everywhere.

Diet has completely gone to pot and I have put on all what I lost. I do deserve to though for all that I have eaten in the last two weeks so diet will start again tomorrow and I'm going to try a detox. I'm quite desperate as we have a family party coming up in three weeks and none of my clothes fit. I got home and put my nice comfy jimmy bottoms on and even they were tight (oh my god). I'm joining the gym on Monday and the kids love playing squash so I've booked a court for tomorrow. I feel rubbish. I've given myself a good talking too whilst away and am going to set times aside to catch up on everyones blogs. I'm always looking but never seem to have time to leave comments as there arejust so many that I love but I promise this will change.

I'm very busy with the website as I have so many things coming in. I need to get the children ready for going back to school. I haven't even got my eldest his shirts yet. Will have to do that on Tuesday now as I'm back off to London on Monday with Sam (my youngest) as he wanted to do the sights before he went back to school. Wednesday my eldest has to see a surgeon about his back. He wants to be a professional golfer when he's older and has had a few problems with his back so we're keeping our fingers crossed. Then Thursday it's back to school for two of them and it'll be the end of the week again. Christmas is fast approaching, dare I say.

Some people have asked if I will do a card party or two (well 4 actually) so I'm trying to get lots of cards made up for that. I really do need to be organised.

Off for some much needed sleep now. Will post some cards tomorrow.

Shattered

Well today me and the boys have been to Covent Garden. My parents and brother came too. Phew it was hard work. My parents are elderly and I hadn't realised that they walk so slow:o)
My brother is 41 but is unable to live on his own. When he was a baby he was affected by the whooping cough jab and has various things wrong with him. He's not disabled as such but obviously still has to live at home. I don't see him very much, especially on days out but he so enjoyed today and it's then that I realise inside he's not 41. He was so excited by the train ride, bless.
It was quite a lot of walking and my dad can't do too much. He was diagnosed with cancer 6 years ago in July and then in the December he had a major heart attack. He was given six months to live and obviously here he is six years on. The cancer has spread to his bones so he tends to ache lots and cannot stand for great lengths.
Going up to London is something that they would never do without me so it was nice to spend a day with them.
We got home around 4pm, so then I had to pack all my orders up and get them posted and then my sister phoned and asked if I fancied going out for pizza this evening. Yum, very naughty but it was a lovely evening.
Tomorrow, I'm taking my parents and the boys to Mercedes Benz world. Not really my thing but the males love it. You are allowed to sit in all the cars (and dream) so won't be around much but am hoping to add some pictures of some cards that I have made.

Emerald City- The Wizard of Oz

Here, at last are the pictures of Emerald City and other bits I made for the Year Six production of The Wizard of Oz.

This top one is how it all began. Just a huge piece of cardboard from a skip, which I painted green.
The signs are made from pieces of wood, made like an upside down T and then cardboard stuck on top and painted.

This you can't see so well, but it's obviously the yellow brick road and in front was a poppy garden that had to be made so the children could lie behind it. I actually used kebab boxes (unused) which I attached the poppies to (all 650, that I sat making for a lot of evenings). I covered them in green card, cut at the top to look like grass (but you can't see this in the picture) and then attached green cloth to the bottom as the children had to hold it up. It was then stuck onto four, one metre rules. Phew!!!

This is the last picture of Emerald City that I got I'm afraid. All of it is made from cardboard, which has then been painted or covered with green/black and then staggered to give a more 3d effect.
Now I'm no artist I know, but I think it turned out ok for the children. They made me a lovely big card to say thank you which I had to go up and collect on the last night and of course tripped over somebodys crutches (can only happen to me).
Thanks for looking.

First Post

Well this is now where I will be posting my card creations and talking about our hectic life. I will keep my other blog to use just for Dies to Die For.

Today is my wedding anniversary (12th) and Andy has taken Jordan and Sam fishing. Nothing planned for today except the usual clearing up and shopping.

Off to update my website.
